Here’s a cool feature to implement in the future Mymind sends you daily “resurfacing” emails or messages I would love this for books I read and take notes or images of highlights I made and then resurfacing emails reminds me of the lessons learned from the books or even things I’ve saved, this is a good way to re-engage with your saved things rather than just becoming a digital junk drawer.
I'm more and more drawn to the analogue version of this work. Journals, scrapbooks and more. There's something too smooth and too not-real about this work being done digitally -- for me anyway.
Totally get that. I do both! I love that these analog processes are coming back. And for mymind (the tool I mention here) we always try to make it feel as close to the analog version as a digital tool can feel. Like a worn leather journal you carry around for years.
YES! This challenge of merging identity and spaces is a fascinating frontier for building a cool new world. Even if just in our personal spaces.
When designing and building spaces for others, I’ve found people quickly default to grouping themselves into a style type and don’t see the pertinence of the seemingly unrelated details of who they are.
Since I’ve been building unique things for a while, my wife and I put together a set-apart guide to help people find those details that can actually be built into their spaces, and included a bunch of examples of unique qualities built into things.
We put it into the Set-Apart Guide We have a value on it, since it requires you to value it to do the work, and makes a good foundation to start to formalize what you love and brings you life.
Hey hey, can you email help@mymind.com and lmk how you’re saving when this happens? And if you’re on desktop, android or ios.
On desktop be sure to enable the instagram integration first (right click the + saving button to find that). On your phone just share it with the app. Idk why it would block your photos - I’ll look for your email and we’ll find out:)
This is so thoughtfully written and thought provoking. I’m fascinated by taste and personal style. It can be hard to get in touch these days with so this is a great guide.
I’ve been using mymind for a couple of weeks now, where have y’all been all my life? 😄
Yayy welcome Lewis! What are you using it most for at this point?
